RE: 2024 FINAL BUDGET
A public hearing was conducted on December 20,2023,at 9:00 a.m.,with the following present:
Commissioner Mike Freeman,Chair

The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated November 27,2023,and duly published
November 29,2023,in the Greeley Tribune,a public hearing was conducted on December 11,
2023,to consider the 2024 Final Budget for Weld County,at which time the Board approved the
2024 Budget and Emergency Ordinance#260,In the Matter of the Annual Appropriation for 2024.
Jennifer Oftelie,Budget Manager,made this a matter of record and stated the net assessed
value for Weld County is$24,037,727,539.00,and the amount legally allowed to collect is 22.038
mills.For 2024,staff is recommending a temporary general property tax credit of 12.024 mills,or
a temporary mill levy rate reduction of 10.014 mills.Ms.Oftelie confirmed the mill levy credit is
increasing from the 7.00 mills to 12.024,which will collect$289,029,636.00 in property tax,which
is under the five percent(5%)Charter limit of$289,043,174.00.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Ross moved to approve the Resolution to Set Mill Levy at 12.024 mills for
2024.The motion was seconded by Commissioner James,and it carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion,the hearing was completed at 10:51 a.m.
