Much of this preparation centers around knowledge of common disasters, identifying where emergency shelters are in a community and taking advantage of tools like weather radios or signing up for CodeRED to stay situationally aware; and WHEREAS, we encourage residents to check out the many resources available to them to help make the seemingly large task of preparedness more achievable. Preparedness tips can be found at www.ready.aov, www.weldoem.com or by viewing our 12 Months of Emergency Preparedness Tips flyers at www.weld.gov/go/pio. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that September 2023 be known as National Preparedness Month. Emergencies are disruptive and can happen at any time. However, preparedness can enable residents to have peace of mind in times of uncertainty, which can help create a more resilient county overall.
