WELD COUNTY CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH
AUGUST 2023
WHEREAS, Weld County recognizes August as Child Support Awareness Month and
reaffirms its commitment to strengthening families by providing child support services to
improve the economic stability and well-being of children; and
WHEREAS, the welfare of our children is the most important responsibility we have as
parents and children who receive adequate emotional and financial support from both
parents may experience an increase in becoming healthy, happy and productive citizens;
and
WHEREAS, it is important to increase public awareness of the child support program
through outreach and education to reinforce the position that all parents must take
responsibility for the financial, emotional, and physical support of their children; and
WHEREAS, Child Support Awareness Month recognizes the dedicated child support
workers, clerks of the court, county attorneys, magistrates, judges, and deputy sheriffs
throughout the county who work diligently to establish and enforce child support obligations
for the benefit of children in Weld County which last year distributed over 20 million dollars
to families within the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that August 2023 be known as Weld County Child Support Awareness Month and
encourages all citizens to join us in this important observance and salute the parents and
caretakers who support the children in our community.
