Gentlemen,
At the Utility Coordinating Advisory Committee meeting February 3 Mfr.
Burman Lorenson revealed to us the Board of County Commissioners may want us
to provide for them a more concise and critical review of proposed subdivision
developments within the county.
This proposjtjon was discussed at length with all members present. It
was decided unanimously that all members would be pleased to serve the Board
of County Commissioners and Weld County in any capacity the Board deemed
desirable and necessary. Indeed the Board would have availed itself of exper-
tise from many fields and services.
However, should you wish to expand our responsibilities and services, we
would like to have some changes in our adopting resolution from the Board, and
an increase in membership from seven to nine members.
The one additional sentence in the "Functions and Duties", could read as
follows: d. To provide an analytical and critical review of subdivisions and
their surroundings and a critical review of all necessary roads, utilities, or
any necessary services.
Another change that would help us considerably is the elimination of the
residency requirement. Perhaps we could reserve membership to representatives
of utilities serving Weld County or designated employees of Weld County.
We have two suggested members both of whom would be pleased to serve should
the Board decide to expand our membership. These people are: Mr. Glen Paul,
Weld County Health Department, and Mr. Ronald Donovan, Division Superintendent,
Platte Valley Division, Public Service Company of Colorado.
