HomeMy WebLinkAbout20232942.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION AND WORK PLAN FOR WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) PROGRAM EVALUATION FUNDS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ELECTRONICALLY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program Evaluation Funds between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, commencing July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said expenditure authorization and work plan, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said expenditure authorization and work plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program Evaluation Funds between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to electronically sign said expenditure authorization and work plan. With the technical assistance and training provided by Northern Illinois University (NIU), local area will: Collaborate on highlighting emerging trends, identify programs or services associated with lower or higher outcomes, focus on specific populations who have barriers to employment. Additionally, this initiative is transitioning to the newly created position of Workforce Operations Supervisor.
