RE: SHOW CAUSE HEARING, PCSC22-0003, TO SHOW WHETHER GOOD CAUSE EXISTS
FOR REVOCATION OF ZONING PERMIT FOR A HOME OCCUPATION CLASS II,
ZPHB16-0015 - SANTOS VEGA AND LUZ YADIRA VEGA
A public hearing was conducted on January 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner Mike Freeman, Chair
Commissioner Perry L. Buck, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Scott K. James
Commissioner Kevin D. Ross
Commissioner Lori Saine
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jess Reid
Assistant County Attorney, Karin McDougal
Planning Services Department representative, Maxwell Nader
The following business was transacted:
El A public Show Cause hearing, PCSC22-0003, was conducted October 26, 2022, to consider
revocation of Zoning Permit for a Home Occupation Class II, ZPHB16-0015, held by Santos Vega
and Luz Yadira Vega. At said hearing the Board moved to suspend the permit and continue the
matter to January 25, 2023, to allow the permittee additional time to bring the site into compliance.
Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a matter of record.
== Maxwell Nader, Department of Planning Services, presented a brief history of the case and
stated, since the Show Cause hearing in October, Mr. Vega had met with Planning staff to discuss
Change of Zone and Resubdivision processes. Mr. Nader relayed the applicant did submit both
of the above mentioned applications, on January 24, 2023, but the applications were incomplete.,
He noted Mr. Vega is making an effort to bring the site into compliance, therefore, Staff
recommends continuing the Show Cause hearing for three (3) months to allow the permittees
additional time to submit complete applications.
Yadira Vega, daughter of the permittees, stated she had no additional comments. In response
to Chair Freeman, she indicated they were working on bringing the site into compliance and
responding to Commissioner James, Mr. Nader confirmed the intent is to change the zone of the
property.
El No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
El In the matter of Show Cause hearing, PCSC22-0003, concerning Zoning Permit for a Home
Occupation Class II, ZPHB16-0015, held by Santos Vega and Luz Yadira Vega,
Commissioner Saine moved to continue the matter to April 19, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., to allow the
permittees additional time to submit complete Change of Zone and Resubdivision applications.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Ross, and Commissioner Saine clarified her motion

included continuing the suspension of the Zoning Permit for a Home Occupation Class II. There
being no further discussion, the motion carried unanimously, and the hearing was completed at
9:31 a.m.
This Certification was approved on the 8th day of February, 2023.
