NATIONAL NURSES MONTH
MAY 2023
WHEREAS, nurses in Weld County are an important part of our nation's largest health care
profession and an indispensable component of the safety and quality of care received by
hospitalized and non -hospitalized patients, and
WHEREAS, public health nurses in Weld County provide for the varied health care needs
of our citizens in a wide range of settings, such as helping with children with special needs
to receive care and resources through the HCP program, visiting clients in their homes to
help develop healthy nutritional habits and safe living environments through Nurse Family
Partnership, and providing direct clinical services through vaccination and cancer
screenings, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners wishes to publicly declare their
appreciation for all nurses within the Weld County Department of Public Health and
Environment for their dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts to provide health care to
residents across all of Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that May 2023 be known as National Nurses Month. We call upon the residents of Weld
County to join us in thanking our public health nurses and show our appreciation by
recognizing their accomplishments and their unparalleled contributions to health care.
