Subject: Traffic Study On Or Before
A traffic study has been completed on Cherry Avenue south of Highway 34,
east of 1st Avenue on East 24th Street, and County Road No. 562 west of
Highway 34.
This is a very dangerous area due to the high rate of speed used on
these roads, blind corners, and many children.
Several complaints have been received from this area regarding this
condition.
Corrective action taken has been to speed zone Cherry Avenue from Highway
34 to the intersection of East 24th Street and County Road No. 56-2, East
24th Street from this intersection to the City limit, and County Road
No. 56-2 from this intersection to Highway 34 on the east, all to 35 m.p.h.
Also, all three roads are properly signed to be a full stop at this
intersection. School Bus Loading signs have also been installed on
County Road No. 56-2.
The attached diagram indicates the corrective action taken. All signs
are installed.
Your cooperation in adopting a resolution to this effect will be
appreciated.
