Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you this morning.On September 23,2023,the community
gathered at Windsor High School Auditorium to celebrate our US Constitution with the specific focus of
congratulating the winners of the US Constitution contest promoted by Commissioner Saine. I believe in
the past this contest was founded by the Weld County Commissioners.The event was held at the end of
Freedom Week celebrating the US Constitution and sponsor by Blessings of Liberty and Patriot Academy.
The first place winners received a pewter bust of George Washington,Alexander Hamilton,or Thomas
Jefferson.The first place in the high school division received registration to the Junior Leadership
Conference in Denver this coming June.The second and third place winners received parchment copies
of the US Constitution,Declaration of Independence,and the Preamble to the US Constitution.The
framed picture you are receiving this morning captured my heart and attention in its pictured message
of"Freedom"and was the first place winner in the Elementary Division of the Art Category.Eden
Moses,a 5t"grade homeschooler in Weld County,depicted the 5 freedoms we have from our
Constitution:Freedom of Speech,Religion,Press,Bear Arms,and to Assemble.I asked Eden's family if
we could copy her picture for you,our commissioners,and they agreed.She is not able to be present as
an obligation came up at the last minute on their schedule for today.
During the event,a youth choir led several patriotic songs for the community.When they started
singing,"God bless America",an elderly man stood tall and straight.Immediately,the audience also rose
to their feet and sang"God bless America".Our children,community,and nation need these
experiences and have the message of freedom ring out throughout the community and in our schools.
Our community is hungry for this spirit of America!Thank you for making this event happen for our
community!
"We the People"have elected you to be our leaders in Weld County and have entrusted with you the
responsibilities of governing and defending and protecting our US Constitution with its freedoms.We
thank you for doing so and hope you will continue to defend and protect with unwavering allegiance to
our US Constitution.We are in a daily battle against socialism,communism,and maxism.If our citizens
have no knowledge of US Constitution and its freedoms,they will easily comply to an idealogy that strips
away their freedoms as we witnessed during Covid.Thank you for protecting and defending our
freedoms during Covid and every day you govern our county.
We have discovered that approximately 97%of our schools are not teaching the US Constitution.
Therefore,not only the students,but most likely the instructors as well are not aware of what our US
Constitution provides.Hence,Patriot Academy and Blessings of Liberty will continue to teach the US
Constitution and provide support to you,Weld County Commissioners,in promoting your US
Constitution Contest.Our plan is to share the contest this spring and help the schools with curriculum,
ideas,and other needs for the US Constitution Contest.
