RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENTS OF TIM MARQUART AND TOM GONZALES AS
VETERANS SERVICE OFFICERS
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado,pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County,Colorado,and
WHEREAS,the obligations,terms,and qualifications of County Veterans Service Officers,
including the appointment for two-year terms,are enumerated in C.R.S.§28-5-801 through 805,
and
WHEREAS,Toby Taylor served the Weld County citizens as the Veterans Service Officer
from July 19,2012,through November 5,2023,and
WHEREAS,the Board deems it advisable to appointment Tim Marquart as a Weld County
Veterans Service Officer,with a term to commence on November 6,2023,and ending November
5,2025,and
WHEREAS,the Board deems it advisable to appointment Tom Gonzales as a Weld
County Veterans Service Officer,with a term to commence on November 11,2023,and ending
November 10,2025.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that Tim Marquart and Tom Gonzales,be,and hereby are,appointed as Weld
County Veterans Service Officers,with terms to expire as listed above.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted
by the following vote on the 1st day of November,A.D.,2023.
