Dear Commission Members,
On behalf of Weld County, we would like to express our full support and encouragement for approval of the Upstate
Colorado Economic Development application for Contribution Project status within the Weld County Enterprise Zone.
Upstate has been Weld County's primary economic development agency for over 35 years. The programs, services,
and efforts of Upstate have played an important role in helping to facilitate the creation of significant new primary
sector jobs and investment. This employer growth has helped to stabilize, further diversify, and improve the overall
health of the Weld economy. We value and depend upon these services and understand the value these tax credits
bring for those who make oontributions to this worthy effort.
The public/private partnership structure of the agency has also proven to be very effective in bringing the two sectors
together to facilitate quality growth while sharing the cost of economic development activities that benefit the County,
communities, and entire region. We are eager for Upstate to receive this renewal because of the designation's potential
to support economic recovery and diversification, resilience to future economic disruptions, workforce development
and retention, the creation of new jobs, and increased wage diversity throughout the county.
