Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Second Floor Hearing Room 210 & via Microsoft Teams The Weld County Board of Health met on April 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft Teams. Those present included: Board Members: Tom Cope, Doug Printz, Fred Hepner, Michael Wailes, Lonnie Ford, Linda Kautz and Bree Lukens. Others: Katie Sall and Lauren Light from Environmental Health, and Dana Garvey Nurse Program Coordinator, and Raissa Huntley Fryer Health Data Specialist. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM. A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approve the agenda. Doug Printz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The board approved the minutes of the March 28, 2023, meeting. A motion was made to approve by Tom Cope and Lonnie Ford seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Biosolids Renewal: Denali Water Solutions — Katie Sall presented 4 Metro Waste Recovery, 7 Denali Water Solutions, 9 City and County of Broomfield biosolid renewal applications. No public comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval. Doug Printz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. Presentations: Dana Garvey- Nurse Program Coordinator- Nurse -Family Partnership Overview The program serves low-income, first-time mothers and counts with specially trained nurses that provide resources and support from pregnancy up until the baby is 2 years old. We are six nurse -home visitors, one nurse supervisor, two data support staff, we are funded for 150 families in Weld County, we travel throughout all of Weld County to see families, we do it because home visitation is a unique nursing opportunity. It takes a very special skillset and passion for serving families in our community. The 5 client -centered principles we go by are the client is the expert on her own life, Follow the client's heart's desire, focus on strengths, Focus on solutions. Program provides in -home visits, or visits elsewhere if needed, such as library, or coffee shop. Education, case management, assessment, support, consistent and flexible scheduling and everything is at no cost -income based. During the home -visit we provide educational tools, NFP curriculum facilitators, PIPE, videos, books, and developmentally appropriate toys we also conduct clinical IPV assessment, PHQ-9 and GAD -7, DANCE assessment, STAR framework, and ASQ and ASQ-SE questionnaires. We work with community partners such as United Way, Salud Family Health Centers, Monfort Family Clinic, Resource Center, Seva Community, and High Plains Library District. to refer a client, fill out a referral form fax it to 970-304-6416 or by filling out our electronic referral form https://us.openforms.com/Form/ae125ea3-ea5d-47bb-932f-3e30b1f676de 1555 N. 17th Avenue Greeley, CO 80631 Phone: (970) 304-6410 weldhealth.org Public Health Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Raissa Huntley Fryer — Health Data Specialist Weld CHS 2022 Data Release — presented the 2022 Weld County Community Health Assessment Survey results — the survey is part of Weld County Public Health's ongoing community health assessment program for population -based health data. It consisted of about 50 questions covering education, poverty, employment, food insecurity, ED visits, preventive screenings, usual source of care, barriers to care, health insurance, housing stability, active transportation, asthma, eating habits, activity levels, drug and alcohol use, smoking and cannabis use, mental health and more. Households are randomly selected and for one adult (age 18+) per household, available in English & Spanish, online and paper. It was fielded May -August 2022, no incentives used, the overall response rate received was 11%, since 20O7, about 15,00 residents have participated in surveys Health Assessment. Results showed that countywide 7.9% of adult residents did not have health insurance of any kind, a higher percentage among Hispanic/Latino(a) residents with 77%. A Higher percentage of uninsured & younger residents were worried about affording care — 38% countywide. One-third of residents say they spend more than 30% of their income on mortgage or rent and utility payments. Residents' leading environmental concern is outdoor air quality. 62.2 adults moderately or very concerned, other environmental health concerns include pollution form O&G operations, disposal of household hazardous waste in landfills, pollution from vehicles & agricultural operations, exposure to radon in their homes and potential rabies exposure to their families, pets or livestock. Needing help in an emergency was higher in rural and Greeley/Evans regions of eh county. Survey results is available on in weld county website dashboard.
