This would connect us with the oiled county line road separating Weld and Adams counties. Such a road would enable us to drive directly from our grassland into Brighton without having to cross the railroad tracks where there aren't warning signals. It would really benefit our area. By reducing bus mileage four miles per day and also enabling us to cut down on the time required on the two trips per school day. We strongly support the opening and construction of a county road at this location. As you are well aware, our Associa- tion provides electric service to many rural residents in Weld County. Good roads and highways contribute significantly to the Association ' s ability to provide dependable electric service at a reasonable cost. They are of the utmost impor- tance during the construction of distribution and transmission facilities and the maintenance and operation of such facili- ties following the initial construction. The proposed county road would in some instances reduce the distance traveled by the Association' s crews as much as five miles . In other words running from the flew Hudson road from Fort Lupton to Hudson South to what is known as the Henry Smith Lane about one mile and one half Routh of Fort Lurton. Respectfully submit the following report, to wit: After receiving our authority to act, we met at the starting point of said proposed road, on the27tblay of September,_1913_ant at the hoar o,tQ__o'clock_ .,i11.,being the time and place specified in our appointment, and proceeded to view the road prayed for in said petition, as follows: -- - We comfy dt the starting point named in said petition,and runt__... .- -. Commencing at a point at the intersection on half section line running East and 7est through sections 3 and 4 and section line running township 1, range 66 Routh between sections 9 and 10 and 3 and 4,/one mile and one half south. In other words running from the New Hudson road from Fort Lupton to Hudson South to what is known as the Henry Smith Lane about one mile and one half south of Fort Lurton. To be reviewed June 19th, 1914. The last named point being the terminus thereof, and the road as above laid out and viewed being over the most practicable route which we in our judgment can fond. [re found it necessary to make the following chanoek in the proposed route as prayed for, viz.:I We recommend that the North half mile of road _. prayed for be not granted and that as a substitute therefor we recommend that a road thirty feet in width, twenty feet off of the East side of the 3144 of section four, T. 1, R. 66, and ten feet off of the West side of the SE4 of section 4, T. 1, R. 66, be granted.
