HomeMy WebLinkAbout20251801.tiffResolution Approve Regulating, Warning, and Guiding Traffic During Extension of Temporary Closure of Good Avenue between Hart Street and Woodruff Street for Approximately an Additional Six (6) Weeks, for Unanticipated Delays Due to Electrical Component and Product Supply Chain Issues Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and Whereas, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a), "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and Whereas, on the 15th day of January, 2025, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board determined that conditions existed which made it necessary to temporarily close Good Avenue, between Hart Street and Woodruff Street, to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said closure being effective February 3, 2025, for approximately five (5) months for a temporary occupation of water storage tanks to provide water during demolition and reconstruction of the existing water storage facility and pump station in Aristocrat Ranchettes, and Whereas, on the 25th day of June, 2025, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to extend said temporary closure of Good Avenue, between Hart Street and Woodruff Street, with said extended closure being effective June 29, 2025, for approximately an additional six (6) weeks through August 7, 2025, for unanticipated delays due to electrical component and product supply chain issues, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn, and guide vehicular traffic on County Roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn, and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. cc : gooks), D;SPo1/4tci-k, CSF 07/.2 /25 2025-1801 EG0024 Extension to Temporary Closure — Good Avenue Page 2 Be it further resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that Good Avenue, between Hart Street and Woodruff Street, be, and hereby is, extended, with said extended closure being effective June 29, 2025, for approximately an additional six (6) weeks through August 7, 2025, for unanticipated delays due to electrical component and product supply chain issues, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. Electrical procurement issues and product supply issues have led to a delay in completion. Original closure was approved for 02/03/2025 through 06/29/2025.
