RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that there has been much
vandalism and malicious mischief in Weld County, specifically directed
to the removal and/or destruction of county owned road signs and other
county property, and
WHEREAS, the Board, upon its own investigation, has determined
that there has been a loss of several thousands of public tax dollars due
to the destruction and/or removal of said county owned signs and other
county property by unknown persons, and
WHEREAS, it has been further determined that the removal
and/or destruction of such county owned property must be brought to a
halt and that all apprehended offenders should be punished, and
WHEREAS, the Board believes it to be in the best interests of the
County to take all necessary steps to discourage the destruction and/or
removal of said county owned road signs and other county property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, and it hereby authorizes and directs the Chairman of
the Board to file a criminal complaint in behalf of the County against any
and all persons caught or accused of removing and/or destroying county
owned property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Board, and it hereby directs
and orders the establishment of a special reward fund, the moneys from
which shall be used to compensate persons for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of any person or persons found guilty of the removal
and/or destruction of county owned property.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED50 bDy the Board, and it hereby

authorizes and directs that a reward of $ U shall be paid to
anyone for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person
or persons found to be guilty of removing and/or destroying county owned
property.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote, on the 23rd day of May, 1973.
