WELD COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS
RE: Former Oil and Gas Location Inspection and Maintenance Notice
Dear Neighbor —
We want to inform you about our upcoming inspection plans at decommissioned PDC
Energy or Noble Energy oil and gas sites in Weld County. While the wells and facilities at
these sites may have been removed, Chevron is responsible for ensuring proper vegetation
growth until we receive final inspection approval from the Energy and Carbon Management
Commission (ECMC). As part of these efforts, we will monitor the site on your property
throughout the 2025 growing season.
In the coming weeks, we will deploy Chevron contractors to inspect locations. If sites need
regular maintenance, such as mowing or weeding, work will be performed per the current
land use and during daylight hours only. If heavier maintenance, such as inner seeding, is
required, we will send a secondary notification before performing that work.
While many inspections will be performed at the site, Chevron may also utilize a drone to
assist with inspecting locations. Drones help us capture aerial imagery of the reclamation
process, including the original disturbance area. This technology has many benefits,
including fewer disruptive inspections, a holistic view of the site, improved imaging, and
increased safety for our employees and contractors.
If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at the
information below. We appreciate your help and collaboration in this effort!
Sincerely,
Chris DeMary
