HomeMy WebLinkAbout20251088.tiffPROCLAMATION UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS DAY APRIL 23, 2025 WHEREAS, the University Bulldogs girls basketball team competed in the 2025 CHSAA Class 4A state championship game against the Delta Panthers on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Denver Coliseum; and WHEREAS, in a physical game, relentless pursuit and opportunistic matchups led to a 42-35 Bulldog victory and the program's very first state title; and WHEREAS, the offensive firepower of the Bulldogs was too much for Delta to overcome. Senior Janay Kravig had 11 points, junior Maddie McNair had eight and senior Addison Harding led the team with 16 points; and WHEREAS, coach Matt Baumgartner crafted and executed a brilliant gameplan, one that built off the Bulldog's matchup the prior year against Delta where they were also successful. This year's victory was much more significant, giving University its first state championship and capping off an undefeated season; and WHEREAS, the Weld County Board of Commissioners shares in the excitement of University's state championship and commends players, coaches and parents for the commitment shown to make this season memorable. Congratulations on an outstanding season. The success experienced can be tied to underlying principles that can be carried throughout life. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that April 23, 2025, be known as University Bulldogs Day to commemorate a championship season. Scott K.
