Resolution Approve Notice of Funding Allocation (NFA) Work Plan for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program, and Authorize Chair, Department of Human Services, and Workforce Development Board to Sign Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and Whereas, the Board has been presented with a Notice of Funding Allocation (NFA) Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, commencing upon full execution of signatures, and ending December 31, 2025, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said NFA work plan, and Whereas, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said NFA work plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Notice of Funding Allocation (NFA) Work Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, be, and hereby is, approved. Be it further resolved by the Board that the Chair, Tami Grant, Deputy Director of the Department of Human Services, and Lisa Vaughn, Workforce Development Board, be, and hereby are, authorized to sign said NFA work plan. The purpose of the Funding is to support the State Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) State Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Staff located in the local area workforce center, who provide services to the Veterans. The JVSG Program is used to expand current services and provide direct services specifically tailored to the needs and talents of Eligible Participates. The Department is now requesting approval of the Work Plan Notice of Funding, which adds additional funding of $10,000.00 and updates Period of Performance through December 31, 2025. What options exist for the Board? Approval of the WIOA Work Plan Notice of Funding Allocation and for the Jobs for Veterans State Grant Program. Deny approval of the WIOA Work Plan Notice of Funding Allocation for the Jobs for Veterans State Grant Program. Consequences: The costs of State personnel will be covered by additional Funding. Impacts: Program funds for the State Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Staff will not be Received, adversely impacting Weld County clients.
