What options exist for the Board? Utilize the floating holiday (Colorado Day) in conjunction with January 1st; OR select alternate date. Consequences: Using the floating holiday on Friday, January 2, 2026, in conjunction with Thursday, January 1st, does create two 3 -day weeks in a row; however, it also affords staff a 4 -day weekend consistent with generally anticipated public closures, including employees who may have kids home on winter break. Impacts: It is at the Board's discretion to select another holiday option. Costs (Current Fiscal Year / Ongoing or Subsequent Fiscal Years): Budgeted staffing wages. Recommendation: Direct Clerk to list Draft Resolution reflecting the Floating Holiday (Colorado Day) in conjunction with January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day). Perry L. Buck Scott K. James Jason S.
