Buck, Chair Commissioner Scott K. James, Pro-Tem Commissioner Jason S. Maxey Commissioner Lynette Peppler Commissioner Kevin D. Ross Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Houstan Aragon County Attorney, Bruce Barker Assistant County Attorney, Matthew Conroy The following business was transacted: a I hereby certify that pursuant to a Notice posted March 4, 2025, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of The Wild Animal Sanctuary, A Colorado Non -Profit Corporation, for a Special Event Permit at 1946 County Road 53, Keenesburg, Colorado 80643. ▪ Matthew Conroy, Assistant County Attorney, presented a brief summary of the application, shared the Department of Planning Services had concerns regarding outstanding building permits for on -site structures, which have since been mitigated, and staff did not present any further concerns throughout the referral period. He stated staff recommends approval. Michelle McGraw, Event Manager, introduced herself for the record and reiterated her request for approval of the Special Event Permit for various events throughout the summer. Commissioner Ross thanked Ms. McGraw for mitigating the Department of Planning Services' concerns. • No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Ross moved to approve the request of The Wild Animal Sanctuary, A Colorado Non -Profit Corporation, for a Special Event Permit at 1946 County Road 53, Keenesburg, Colorado 80643, based on the recommendations of staff. There being no further discussion, the hearing was completed at 9:37 a.m. The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, approved the above and foregoing Hearing Certification, on motion duly made and seconded, by the following vote on the 31st day of March, A.D., 2025: Perry L.
