LONG-TERM CARE RESIDENTS' RIGHTS MONTH
OCTOBER 2025
WHEREAS, Weld County recognizes the individuals living in nursing homes and assisted
living facilities throughout the county to be treated respectfully, with dignity and free
from abuse, restraints, and neglect; and
WHEREAS, long-term care residents should be aware of their rights so they may be
empowered to live with dignity and self-determination without fear of retaliation; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Long -Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for
individuals in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other long-term care settings,
ensuring their concerns regarding quality of care, elder abuse and facility operations are
addressed wish the utmost respect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Weld County Board of Commissioners that
the month of October be known as Long -Term Care Residents' Rights Month. We
encourage the community to join in amplifying the valuable voices of these residents
who stand up and advocate for their rights.
