Thank You for the gift of the Weld County Flag. Your continued support of Fort Vasquez since 1936 is deeply
appreciated.
Fort Vasquez is the first licensed business in what later became Weld County, one of the 17 original Counties of
Colorado Territory established in Sept 1861. 1936 brought the 9/10 of an acre to Weld County from J. W. Birkle
to facilitate the WPA recreation of the adobe Buffalo hide trading post.
2014 The Weld County Board of Commissioners presented the privilege of flying the Weld County Flag over
Fort Vasquez.
