We have contacted the nominees and each has agreed to have his
name submitted to you. Our list comprises persons who are
experienced in the field of adult and juvenile problems and
corrections or who have a great interest in the area.
If it meets with your approval, the League would like to sponsor
the first meeting of this Advisory Committee . Clark Thomas, of
CNC-NIiPQ, Inc. , who has offered to work with the comrtittee, has
informed us that the jail plans will probably need to be finalize'
by early fall. With this in mind, we would like to make the most
of the first meeting by arranging:
(1) A presentation of the jail plans by Clark Thomas , of
CNC-NHPQ, Inc.
(2) A talk by a state official (such as the Director of
Criminal Justice of the State of Colorado) on jail
programs.
(3) Organization time for the purpose of electing a
chairman of the committee and planning future meetings.
We would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this and having
your approval so that we may schedule the first meeting. There
is much interest in the jail plans, and we thank you for the
opportunity to help arrange citizen input on those plans.
Sincerely yours,
- -
