Subject: Award Recommendation for Security Appliance B2500087 RFP
Proposals were received and opened on August 14, 2025 for the Security Appliance
RFP solicitation. Four proposals were received ranging from $174,247.00 to
$904,914.69.
The Information Technology staff reviewed all proposals. Attached are the scores from
the RFP selection committee and the costs from the RFP proposals. For the first phase
of evaluation (Vendor Short -List Phase), all vendor responses were reviewed and
scored by the selection committee to determine a short list of vendors. The vendor
proposal with the highest score in round 1 of evaluation and the only proposal within
Weld County's budget was: Trace 3's Fortinet.
Because Trace 3's Fortinet proposal was the only proposal within the budget and meets
all of the stated requirements, the second phase of evaluation (Vendor Selection Phase)
was by-passed. The selection committee determined that Trace3 out of Colorado
Springs, CO has the best valued solution for Weld County. Their proposed cost of
$174,247.00 is for hardware, software, 3 years maintenance, and professional services
for implementation.
With the above information, I recommend the BOCC award the Security Appliance RFP
to Trace3 for a total amount of $174,247.00.
