NATIONAL CHILD CARE PROVIDER DAY
MAY 9, 2025
WHEREAS, United Way of Weld County, Weld County's Early Childhood Council, Weld
County Department of Human Services, and other local, state and national organizations
nationwide will be recognizing the child care workforce and programs who provide care
for children on May 9th; and
WHEREAS, the formal and informal Child Care System supports children's growth,
development, and educational advancement and creates a positive economic impact
for families and communities; and
WHEREAS, Weld County recognizes that child care is a necessary service for families,
communities, and our local and regional economy, and that the need will continue to
grow along with the population; and
WHEREAS, support for affordable, accessible high -quality child care represents a worthy
and necessary commitment to help families work, support children's healthy
development and learning, and to keep our economy healthy and growing.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
May 9, 2025, be known as Child Care Provider Day in Weld County. We urge all citizens
to recognize child care providers for their important work and valuable contribution
provided to our children, families and our communities.
