Dear Representative Evans,
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners is in full support of the Greeley -Weld
County Airport's request for critical infrastructure funding. The 233rd Space Group is housed
at the airport and the improvements would be essential for their mission, along with
assisting with regional and national readiness.
We support their request for the following:
Runway strengthening, taxiway and apron improvements to support C-17
operations: $50 million.
Full length parallel taxiway improvements to support C-17 operations: $29 million.
Inclusions into the FCT program and construction of an FAA -compliant control
tower: $24 million
We appreciate all the work you do on behalf of our county residents and know these
requests would be a great investment in the airport and will not only assist in safeguards
and enhance national security but open new opportunities for regional growth.
