It was brought out that there are other feeding operations in the area . Mr. Honstein stated he under- stood there were to be approximately 200 head of cattle and pos- sibly some for grazing . If he had known there were to be 2500 head of cattle and 15 ,000 head of lambs he would not have signed the petition for approval . T. Warner TO: Wave Sudduth, WC F Soil Conservation Service 1 Greeley, CA 80631 " L J In reply to your request the following is the soil interpretation for an area of land about 14 acres in adze located in the Wt- Wiei- SVig Sec 6, T6W, 264W, Weld County, Colorado. Hr. Werner intends to use the land for a dairy operation. The area in question is not subject to flooding and any runoff from the dairy barn or corrals would be to a natural depression or enclosed *wale to the south. There are some shallow soils just south of the existing farmstead with shale at between 20 and 40 inches. The rest . of the soils have a substratum of loans or fine sandy loam and would be suitable for a lagoon or holding pond. If.the holding pond were located in the area of shallow soil it might necessitate a blanket of impervious material to seal any cracks or fissures which might be present. The only natural drainageway in the area is Willow Creek, about 3/4 sails to the- southeast:. It is unlikely that any runoff from the corrals would over reach Willow Creek. / James A.
