HomeMy WebLinkAbout20250658.tiffSummary of the Weld County Planning Commission Meeting Tuesday, February 4, 2025 A regular meeting of the Weld County Planning Commission was held in the Weld County Administration Building, Hearing Room, 1150 O Street, Greeley, Colorado. This meeting was called to order by Chair Butch White, at 1:30 p.m. Roll Call. Present: Butch White, Michael Wailes, Michael Palizzi, Virginia Guderjahn, Barney Hammond, Michael Biwer, Cindy Beemer. Absent: Pamela Edens, Jay Pier. Also Present Diana Aungst, Department of Planning Services, Lauren Light, Department of Health, Karin McDougal, County Attorney, and Kris Ranslem, Secretary. Motion: Approve the January 7, 2025 Weld County Planning Commission minutes, Moved by Cindy Beemer, Seconded by Virginia Guderjahn. Motion passed unanimously. Case Number. COZ24-0007 Applicant West Greeley Conservation District Planner: Diana Aungst Request Change of Zone from the R-1 (Low Density Residential) Zone District to the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Legal Description: Lots 1, 2, 7, and 8 being part of the SW1/4 SE1/4 of Section 10, according to the Subdivision of Lands by the Union Colony of Colorado; Lot 1 being part of the NW1/4 NE1/4 of Section 15; Lot 2, lying north of U.S. Highway 34 and east of the canal of the Greeley Irrigation Company, being part of the NW1/4 NE1/4 of Section 15; and a tract of land being part of the SW1/4 NE1/4 of Section 15 all located in Township 5 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado. Location: South of and adjacent to East 18° Street; approximately 0.25 miles west of Fern Avenue. Diana Aungst, Planning Services, presented Case COZ24-0007, reading the recommendation and comments into the record. The Department of Planning Services recommends approval of this application along with conditions of approval and development standards. Lauren Light, Environmental Health, reported on the public water and sanitary sewer requirements. The Chair said that the applicant, JC York was present, however, he has laryngitis. The Chair asked the Planning Commission if they had any questions for the applicant. The Planning Commission had no further questions for the applicant. The Chair asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak for or against this application. No one wished to speak. The Chair asked the applicant if they have read through the Development Standards and Conditions of Approval and if they are in agreement with those. The applicant replied that they are in agreement. Motion: Forward Case COZ24-0007 to the Board of County Commissioners along with the Conditions of Approval and Development Standards with the Planning Commission's recommendation of approval, Moved by Michael Wailes, Seconded by Michael Palizzi. Vote: Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote (summary: Yes = 7). Yes: Barney Hammond, Butch White, Cindy Beemer, Michael Biwer, Michael Palizzi, Michael Wailes, Virginia Guderjahn. 2025-0658 The Chair asked the public if there were other items of business that they would like to discuss. No one wished to speak. The Chair asked the Planning Commission members if there was any new business to discuss. No one wished to speak.
