WORLD ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS DAY
JUNE 15, 2025
WHEREAS, Weld County's older adults are valued members of society, and it is our
collective responsibility to ensure they live safely and are treated with dignity; and
WHEREAS, at -risk adults in our community have a right to not be abused, exploited, or
neglected in their care; and
WHEREAS, preventing abuse of older and vulnerable adults will improve their quality of life
and allow them to continue to live as independently as possible and contribute to the
vibrancy of Weld County; and
WHEREAS, Weld County Home and Community Supports Division's Adult Protective
Services and community partners are committed to the support and protection of at -risk
adults through advocacy, investigations of mistreatment, and arrangement of services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
June 15, 2025, be known as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. We urge all citizens to
recognize and celebrate older adults and their ongoing contributions to the success and
vitality of our county.
