Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 May 13, 2025 Re: Weld County Support for Town of Frederick's WCR13 and WCR20 Intersection Project Dear Appropriations Committee, Weld County strongly supports the Town of Frederick's Community Project submission for improvements to Weld County Road (WCR) 13 and WCR 20. These roads are critical components of Weld County's transportation network, serving not only the residents of Frederick but also facilitating regional connectivity and commerce. Weld County recognizes the significant challenges posed by the rapid growth occurring in the Carbon Valley and Southwest Weld County region. The increased population and economic activity have placed considerable strain on our transportation infrastructure, leading to increased congestion, safety concerns, and the need for enhanced multimodal options. The Town of Frederick's project directly addresses these challenges in a manner that aligns with Weld County's transportation priorities. The proposed improvements will provide substantial benefits to Weld County by: Improving Regional Traffic Flow: WCR 13 is a key north -south arterial that carries significant traffic volumes across the county. The proposed optimizations to traffic flow through signal timing and controls, as well as increased roadway capacity, will alleviate congestion and improve travel times for commuters and commercial vehicles traveling throughout Weld County. Enhancing Safety on a County Arterial: Safety is a top priority for Weld County. The installation of ADA curb ramps, pedestrian crossing controls, and other safety enhancements will reduce accidents and improve safety for all users of WCR 13 and WCR 20, including pedestrians and cyclists. Supporting Economic Development: Efficient transportation infrastructure is essential for the economic vitality of Weld County. These improvements will facilitate the movement of goods and services, supporting businesses and industries throughout the region. Promoting MuQimodal Connectivity: Weld County is committed to providing a balanced transportation system that offers residents diverse travel options. The construction of trails and bicycle lanes will enhance connectivity and promote active transportation, aligning with our goals for a healthy and sustainable community. In conclusion, Weld County views the Town of Frederick's intersection Project as a vital investment that will provide significant benefits to both the local community and the broader region. We urge the Appropriations Committee to give full and favorable consideration to this important project. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sinc ely, k634- rry L. B k 4.
