WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the 1973 Federal-Aid Highway Act, the procedure for establishing boundaries for urban areas of over 5000 population has been modified, and WHEREAS, the Board has det ermined that it would be desirous and in the best interest of the County to properly define and establish the City of Greeley, Colorado urban area, thus providing increased flex- ibility to various federally aided highway programs having direct reference to said urban area, and WHEREAS, in accordance with the newly modified procedure the City of Greeley, Colorado urban area has been determined to have a population of 41, 680, more or less, per Bureau of Census figures, all as shown within the designated boundaries of the City of Greeley and its urban boundaries, per copy of map marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the urban area boundary map of the City of Greeley, Colorado urban area hereinabove referred to as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby approved. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 5th day of December, A. D. , 1973. Annis City Manager enclosure lc • RESOLUTION At a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Evans , Weld County , Colorado , held at the Municipal Fire Station on Tuesday , the 4th day of December , 1973 , there being a quorum present , the following resolution was proposed and after being put to a vote was unanimously approved. Said resolution being in the words as follows , herewith ; BE IT ROSOLVED: That the City Council in and for the City of Evans , Colorado has herewith reviewed and duly considered the proposed urban boundaries of the Greeley metropolitan area, as submitted by the Colorado State Department of Highways , and have found the boundaries practical and acceptable to the City of Evans at this date. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the governing body hereby officially accepts and adopts these urban boundaries this date and supports the Colorado State Highway Department in it ' s attempt to , improve the exchange located at the north- east section of the City of Evans , commonly known as Highways 34 and 85. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Division of Highways of the State of Colorado has , under the 1973 Federal-Aid Highway Act, estab- lished new boundaries for an urban area which includes the Town of Garden City, and, WHEREAS, an Urban Area Boundary Map has been submitted to the Board of Trustees, and, WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Town of Garden City have had an opportunity to inspect said Map, and, WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the Town of Garden City to accept the boundaries as shown on the Urban Area Boundary Map herein described, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Urban Area Boundary as shown on the Map submitted to the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Town of Garden City by the Division of Highways of the State of Colorado be and it is hereby accepted and approved. A motion was made and seconded to adopt the above and foregoing Resolution, which motion was unanimously adopted. I hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and accurate copy of Resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Garden City, Weld County, Colorado, at a meeting of the Town Board on December 4, 1973. Trustee, Marilyn Collins moved the adoption of the above and foregoing Resolution, which motion was seconded by Al Kendrick and upon vote, unanimously adopted. The undersigned, Town Clerk of the Town of Rosedale, here- by certifies that the above and foregoing Resolution was duly passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees at its regular meeting on Nov- ember 28, 1973 . Department of Transportation has defined an area including Greeley and its; environs , and the delineation of such area shall have significance for purposes of establishing; break points between the use of rural and urban highway fluids , and WHEREAS , the area so delineated has been shown by red lines on a map prepared by the State Department of Highways , Division of highways, State of Colorado , Planning and Research Division, in cooperation with U. S . Department of Transportation , Federal Highway Administration , said map being further identified by the words "Greeley and Surrounding Area" at the bottom of the map ; and WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Greeley , Colorado has considered said map and the urban area boundary shown thereon and has found the same to be proper ; NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRELLEEY, COLORADO The map i_dentllied aoove anu file designation thereon of the urban area boundary for the City of Greeley and its environs, as of November 21, ' 973 , is hereby approved and adopted , for all proper purposes . 0 PASSED AND ADOPTED , SIGNED AND APPROVED This 4th day of December , 1973 .
