Approve Regulating, Warning, and Guiding Traffic During Extension of Temporary
Closure of County Road 41 Between State Highway 52 County Road 22 for
Approximately an Additional Three (3) Days, for Safer Implementation of Traffic
Control Devices and Signage
Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
Whereas, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a), "...local authorities, with their respective
jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not
to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction
with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
Whereas, on the 23rd day of June, 2025, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis of
traffic and personnel investigations, the Board determined that conditions existed which
made it necessary to temporarily close County Road 41, between State Highway 52 and
County Road 22, to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by
posting signs thereon, with said closure being effective July 7, 2025, for approximately
two (2) months, through September 5, 2025, for an intersection improvements project,
and
Whereas, on the 25th day of August, 2025, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis
of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist
which make it necessary to extend said temporary closure of County Road 41, between
State Highway 52 and County Road 22, with said extended closure being effective
August 5, 2025, for approximately an additional three (3) days through September 8,
2025, for safer implementation of traffic control devices and signage for the closure for
the south leg of the improvements project, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn, and guide vehicular traffic on County
Roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn, and/or
guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices
shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Be it further resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 41, between State Highway 52
and County Road 22, be, and hereby is, extended, with said extended closure being
August 5, 2025, for approximately an additional three (3) days through September 8,
2025, for safer implementation of traffic control devices and signage for the closure for
the south leg of the improvements project, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, approved the above
and foregoing Resolution, on motion duly made and seconded, by the following vote on
the 25th day of August, A.D., 2025:

SUBJECT: BOCC Agenda Item
Weld County Public Works is requesting to extend the closure of CR 41 between SH 52 and CR 22 from
original end date of 9/5/2025 through 9/8/2025. The reasoning is to minimize confusion for the
travelling public and allow for safer implementation of traffic control devices and signage the south
closure.
Original approved closure dates were 7/7/2025 through 9/5/2025.
