Mr. Lorenson stated it is his recommendation not to approve this type of thing for a grant where the citizenry would be paying for this land to be developed for water, it would have to be for a strict loan . The Farmers Home Administration is now required by Federal guide lines to check with the local planning agencies for their comments and recommendations . Bailey To: Burman Lorenson, Planning Director Weld County Planning Department County Services Building Greeley, CO 80631 Mr. David Bailey has requested this office to furnish you with the soils information and interpretation for the N- NE'k SEy Sec. 15, T3N, 8.66W, Weld County, Colorado. Mr. Bailey intends to use the land for a homesite with septic tank filter field for on-site sewagec$sposal and for a dog kennel. There is no available soil survey for the area at the present time. However, I did check the particular area on May 19, 1972 and found the area to be 51-B and 51-C, Vona loamy sand, 1 - 3% and 3 - 5% slope (see attached map.) The area of B slope was saturated with free water at 4 feet, although there was no mottling or staining to indicate a high permanent water table. The seepage may be from the Speer Canal. Normally the Vona soils have only slight limitations for homesites and septic tanks. The area has very little runoff and is not subject to flooding. i James A.
