NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH - NOVEMBER 2025
WELD COUNTY ADOPTION DAY - NOVEMBER 21, 2025
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners recognizes the importance of
providing children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect with permanent,
safe, and loving families through adoption; and
WHEREAS, November is National Adoption Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness
and encouraging our community to learn about the importance of adoption; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Human Services will hold a special day of
adoption hearings on Friday, November 21, in recognition of National Adoption Day on
Saturday November 22, to finalize the adoptions of local children and to join with
community organizations in celebrating adoptions; and
WHEREAS, Weld County Department of Human Services' Post Adoption Support, known as
Family Forever, provides families with a safe place to receive support and access
resources that strengthen their adoptive family and promote the well-being of all
household members. All families who have adopted children and reside in Weld County,
or who have adopted from the Weld County Child Welfare system and live elsewhere, are
eligible to receive Family Forever services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Weld County Board of Commissioners that
November be known as Adoption Month and November 21, 2025, be recognized as Weld
County Adoption Day. All residents are encouraged to join the national effort to raise
awareness about the importance of adoption and to celebrate adoptive families
throughout our community.
