Home My WebLink About20250349.tiffResolution Approve Sales Quote for Purchase of One (1) Used Wheel Loader and authorize Controller to sign any necessary documents — Performance Equipment Sales and Rental Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and Whereas, pursuant to Section 5-4-50.C of the Weld County Code, Purchasing Policy, allows the Board of County Commissioners to purchase items of used equipment which by its nature is not biddable, and Whereas, the Board has been presented with a Sales Quote from Performance Equipment Sales and Rental for the Purchase of One (1) Used Wheel Loader for the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Departments of Fleet Services and Public Works, as identified below, and Year Make 2021 John Deere 844L 1DW844LXHML712083 Model Serial Identification Number Whereas, the Director of the Department of Fleet Services inspected the equipment and found it to be in good condition, and Whereas, the Director of the Department of Public Works concurs the equipment will meet the needs of the department without purchasing brand-new equipment, and Whereas, the Chief Financial Officer has advised the Board there are funds in the 2025 budget to purchase the equipment, and Whereas, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said Sales Quote from Performance Equipment Sales and Rental, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, for the purchase of a used piece of equipment as stated above at a total cost of $375,000.00. Weld County Code Section 5-4-50 titled Purchasing Policy allows the Board of County Commissioners to purchase an item of used equipment which, by its very nature is not biddable as a practical matter. Therefore, Weld County Fleet Services recommends purchasing the used John Deere 844L Wheel Loader for the price of $375,000.00. What options exist for the Board? The Board has the option to place this request on the BOCC meeting agenda or, request a work session for this purchase. Consequences: If approved, Fleet Services will move forward with the purchase of this used piece of equipment. Impacts: If denied, Fleet Services will begin the formal bid process for this equipment purchased request. Costs (Current Fiscal Year / Ongoing or Subsequent Fiscal Years): 375,000.00.
