ENGINEERS WEEK
FEBRUARY 16 - 22, 2025
WHEREAS, engineers apply their scientific expertise, technical skills, and innovative
problem -solving to meet the needs of our community, ensure the continued growth and
development of Weld County and improve quality of life; and
WHEREAS, engineers in Weld County continue to be integral to the advancement of our
community's infrastructure, from the design, review, oversight and construction of roads
and bridges and other vital construction projects; and
WHEREAS, engineering professionals are instrumental in ensuring that designs and
developments adhere to legal, environmental, and safety standards, as well as the
community values and needs; and
WHEREAS, the National Society of Professional Engineers established National Engineers
Week in 1951 to coincide with George Washington's birthday, celebrating the invaluable
contributions engineers make to society.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that February 16 through 22, 2025, shall be recognized as Engineers Week in Weld County,
Colorado, and we encourage all citizens to join in honoring the dedicated engineers whose
work shapes our county's future.
