To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of _ Weld County, Colorado: GENTLEMEN: Your Viewers appointed on the 15th day of April 19 21 to rich 0 County Road prayed far in a certain petition presented to your honorable body on the above named day and date. a copy of which has been received by us, viz: Commencing at at the Northeast corner of section 5, Twp. 4, Range 68, thence South on the line between Section 4 and 5 to the North bank of the Branson Lake, thence around the East side Bf said lake to said line between seotiens 4 and 5 on South side of said lake, then South 'tot 'Cie North side of the De9'rance Lake, thence around the West side Bf said lake to intersect the County road on the East line of Section 8, Twp. 4 North, Range 68 West, with such variations from the above described line as may be necessaby to put the proposed road on a good location. • Respectfully submit the following report, to-wit: After receiving our authority to act, we met at the starting point of said pro- posed road, on the 29th _ - - __day of April 1919_at the hour of 8:00 o'clock A. ' Branson lake•which-is in the center of the Section line. .The . 6 proposed road which follows the east side of the lake we found to ,.:'g. : be very seepy and would be a very hard place to_ make and maintain a road. ; , Just south of this Branson lake.on the Section line we found- a large ditch which crosses the Section line. This ditch would, 'reouire.about a 20 foot bridge The ditch is also on a grade and. it would be necessary to make a.large fill on et'oh side.of the. bridge. .It.would also be necessary to haul the dirt for some . distance to make the fills. Near this ditch it would be necessary,y. to remove about 20 large trees. % The 'next 80 rods- south on this section line we found- to be . . very good. Then we came to a ditch at the north side of another ,lake which is known as the La France lake. This ditch would re- " .9 , quire about a ten foot span also the removal of six large trees. • From this point the.road follows around the west side of the , • , said lake. The, ground,here is also seepy and would be difficult to make and maintain a good road. - . ' The building of this road would save a few pSople a distance: '_ - of about a mile in hauling beets. We`also believe that theinr.e present road,' although one, mile longer, would•be abetter road :than one we oould make and maintain around.these lakes.
