WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
APRIL 5 - 11, 2025
WHEREAS, United Way of Weld County's Reading Great by 8, and Weld County's Early
Childhood Council and its community partners, in conjunction with the National Association
for the Education of Young Children, are celebrating the Week of the Young Child,
April 5-11, 2025; and
WHEREAS, these organizations are working together to increase awareness of the
importance of early childhood development while helping to facilitate accessible pathways
of services which will lead to the lifelong well-being for all children prenatal through 8 years
of age; and
WHEREAS, teachers, child care professionals, non -profits, and all those who make a
difference in the lives of young children in Weld County deserve thanks and recognition;
and
WHEREAS, public policies that support early learning opportunities for all young children
are crucial to all children in Weld County being valued, healthy and thriving.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that April 5-11, 2025, be known as the Week of the Young Child in Weld County and
encourages all citizens to work to make a good investment in early childhood in Weld County
and across Colorado.
