Attached please find the Approval email from the State of Colorado for the Child Welfare Core II Plan
funding. This letter is for an approval of an allocation to Child Welfare Division for excess Core
Funding. The BOCC approved submittal of the Core Services Program Plan August 5, 2024, and is

Good afternoon,
We hope you are doing well and keeping warm in the extreme temperatures Colorado is
experiencing!
Our finance team has completed the steps necessary to determine if Core II Plan submissions
can be fulfilled. We are happy to share that Weld County has met the criteria for excess
funding under a Core II Plan and there are funds available. In your Plan, you
requested $652,000. After reviewing the total allocation available and other factors, your
county has been allocated $321,188. These funds must be used in the manner you detailed in
your Core II Plan by June 30.2025. If you agree to that and the amount specified, please reply
to this email stating such and that you are able to accept the amount listed.
We ask that you respond, either to accept or decline, by the end of business day this Friday,
January 24, 2025. It is anticipated that this allocation will be made available in the January
2025 Settlement process.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this email prior to accepting or declining,
please let me know as soon as possible.
