NATIONAL NURSES MONTH
MAY 2025
WHEREAS, nurses in Weld County are the heart of health care — caring for others, leading
with integrity, inspiring change, and doing it day in and day out - shift after shift - with
unwavering dedication in the steadfast rhythm that defines the profession; and
WHEREAS, nurses serving in hospitals, clinics, schools, and community health programs are
a critical part of our county health care ecosystem, steadfast in their compassion,
courage and commitment to patients, families, and communities; and
WHEREAS, public health nurses within the Weld County Department of Public Health and
Environment make a meaningful impact through preventative programs such as Nurse -
Family Partnership, which supports new mothers; the HCP program, which connects
families to services for children and youth with special health care needs; tuberculosis
treatment and monitoring services; vaccinations, STI testing, and cancer screenings; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners wishes to recognize the essential
contributions of all nurses in our community and express its deep gratitude tireless
dedication, service, and sacrifice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the
month of May 2025 be known as National Nurses Month in Weld County. We encourage
all residents to join us in honoring the nurses who serve our community and inspire us all
through their care, leadership, and commitment.
