See the attached offer letter. What options exist for the Board? Consequences: The sale of these two K-9 units would assist the Park County Sheriffs office in fulfilling their need for additional support vehicles in a quick and cost-effective manner. Impacts: Weld County would forego sending these units to auction. Costs (Current Fiscal Year / Ongoing or Subsequent Fiscal Years): This deal would be at zero cost to Weld County. Recommendation: Fleet Services recommends the sale of the two K-9 Patrol vehicles to Park County at the proposed price of $6,000. Perry L. Buck, Pro-Tem Mike Freeman Scott K. James Kevin D. Highway interdiction for drugs coming into our county, the recent fentanyl death of an eleven -month -old baby, search and rescue operations and patrol operations are the primary needs for this unit. I have been able to utilize salary savings to pay for the purchase of two dogs, two new K-9 Tahoe's, training for two K-9 deputies along with various supplies and equipment. This has pretty much taken up most, if not all, of the salary savings. I have been in contact with Weld County Undersheriff Donnie Patch and Deputy Director of Fleet Francisco Amparan regarding two 2019 K-9 Ford Explorers that have been removed from service with the Weld County Sheriff's Office. I would like to purchase those two vehicles for use as spare K-9 vehicles with the remaining $6,000 that I have left over from my salaries savings. I fully realize that these vehicles are probably more valuable; however, I do not have additional funding. I am respectfully reque 'n that you consider my offer.
