BOX 758 GREELEY, CO 80632 Chad Cooper Erie High School Athletic Director 3180 County Road 5 Erie, CO 80516 Dear Mr. Cooper, We are proud of Weld County state championship teams, and the Weld County Board of Commissioners would like to congratulate the Erie Tigers girls golf team on winning the Class 4A state championship in May. Every championship is special; but this one is unique in that it further solidifies the success of the girls golf program at Erie High School. Winning one state championship is difficult enough, but winning three consecutive, as the Tigers have done, speaks to the talent of the team and also a desire to maintain a high level of play. That desire stems from not only a continued work ethic, but also from understanding the importance of always trying your best and working to improve. A third straight state championship is the result of that effort, and we encourage team members to keep that same drive with them as the move toward other goals. While we want to recognize the Tigers as a team, we know that individual performances stand out. During the season, several individuals stood out for the Tigers, and we'd like to congratulate them on being named all -state by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA): Senior Logan Hale, (named Player of the Year) junior Hadley Ashton and junior Taylor Hale. Of course, a championship isn't won by team members alone. The coaches and parents serve as an overall support system that helps make success possible. We'd like to thank them for their continued commitment and congratulate Brandon Bird on being named CHSAA 4A Coach of the Year. We always try to recognize Weld County state championship teams in person at board meetings. However, with the end of spring sports coming so close to the end of the school year, it's difficult to get the team together without interrupting summer schedules, jobs or vacations. Please accept this letter as a formal recognition of the great season had by the Erie Tigers. We are proud of the state championship victory and join in celebrating the accomplishment! BOX 758 GREELEY, CO 80632 Zac Lemon Eaton High School Athletic Director 1661 Collins SL Eaton CO 80615 Dear Mr. Lemon, What a year for the Eaton baseball team! A perfect 28-0 record, culminating in a historic fourth straight state championship. Those accomplishments are certainly impressive, and we're writing to congratulate the Eaton baseball team on another championship season! Beyond the athletic achievements of the team, are the traits that made them possible, and we find those equally commendable. A championship season - or four consecutive - is only possible with the commitment of players to improve, coaches to continually drive a positive message and parents who offer unwavering support by attending games or driving their kids to practice. These traits and the teamwork built as a result, will serve players long after high school and long after their athletic careers end. As our young people go forward in life, there will undoubtedly be challenges. When those challenges present themselves, we ask the members of the Eaton baseball team to let the memories of this season's special moments provide confidence and motivation to rise to challenges and succeed. While we champion the skills utilized to achieve athletic success, we don't want to gloss over the dominance of the Eaton Reds on the diamond this year. While a comeback 6-5 win in Class 3A state championship was impressive, equally so is the talent recognized on the all -state team by the Colorado I-Iigh School Activities Association. Led by coach Todd Hernandez and Lucas Stone, who earned 3A Coach of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively, several other Reds made all -state, either as first -team selections or honorable mentions. That is an impressive feat and further proof that the traits mentioned above are being noticed not only locally but also statewide. While we typically recognize Weld County state champion teams in person at a board meeting, the timing of spring sports makes it difficult. With the season's conclusion so close to summer, seniors have graduated, and other players may have summer jobs or vacations planned, making it hard to recognize the team in person. Please accept this letter as our formal congratulations to the Eaton baseball team on another championship season! We join players, coaches, parents, and the entire RE-2,community in celebrating! Sincerely, Kevin D. Ross Chair, Weld County Board of Commissioners Hello
