I We find that there has been a decided drop in population In this area (about 36 7) on farms the past 13 years according to the C. U. Research ?ureau. The town of cindeor population has declined for 30 years. 1852 In 1930, 1811 In 1940, 1541 rn 1950 and 1511 In 196C. Schools that have closed in this area are Pracewell, Oklahoma, Severance, Smith and Observatory. II There are no housing sub -divisions t sing built., no trailer court, we are not burdened with liquor stores, junk ysids or commercial feed lots, ferttliter pl;manta., ect. III The farmers in this area feel they hove atee~iwte troteation in the present laws end regulations as provided by the health department, fire protection district, soil diet., water district, drainage diet., weed dirst., road dist., and the lioen-sing and ether regulatory powers vested in our con^ztsal, oners. Ii! The pronosed zoni-ng resolution would create or expand another needless tax spending board. We note that our county taxes have more than doubled ,the past 10 years, and at a time when the farm Income fias steadily declined. Zoning would cause great inconvenince to the farmer, as he Is not always aware of all re►ulattone. Fe would either have to get permits ar run the risk of violating the law on any construction work in -the future. The preposed Horsing regulatl ono moray -work well in the immediate arena surrounding Greeley, but -since At is not needed in our - rea it _could ^only mean a -controlled agricultural -eronom.y-.
