WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
February 26, 2024
The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home
Rule Charter at 6:30 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Weld County Administration
Building, 1150 0 Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Teksten. Councilmembers Cindy Beemer,
and Trent Leisy were present, constituting a quorum of members. Councilmembers James
Welch and Elijah Hatch were absent. Also present was Council Secretary Linda Kane.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA :
Councilmember Leisy made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Councilmember
Beemer and carried.
APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION:
Approval of January 22, 2024, Minutes
Councilmember Beemer made a motion to approve the January minutes, seconded by
Councilmember Leisy and the motion carried.
4th quarter RTTP
Councilmember Beemer made a motion to approve the January minutes, seconded by
Councilmember Leisy and the motion carried.
Resolution 231: Meeting dates for 2024
Councilmember Beemer made a motion to approve the January minutes, seconded by
Councilmember Leisy and the motion carried.
REVIEW PROGRAM:
There was none.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Robert Grand, Keenesburg, asked for the third time why Commissioner Lori Seine is not heading
a department within her duties as a commissioner.
Jeffrey Cayton, Greeley, stated the country has an illegal immigrant problem. He said Denver acts
as a sanctuary city and as they run out of resources, will ask nearby communities to help. He
discouraged support.
OLD BUSINESS:
There was none.
NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion regarding salary setting
Councilmember Beemer moved to table discussion of salary setting processes to next month
when a full Council is present, it was seconded by Councilmember Leisy and carried

There were none.
Bills
Councilmember Leisy made a motion to approve bills, it was seconded by Councilmember
Beemer and carried. The bills were paid as follows: Trent, Cindy
o Weld County Phone Bill for January $25.15
o Prairie Mtn. Media, 3rd quarter RTTP $132.00
ADJOURNMENT:
By acclamation, the meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
