COUNTY TREASURER

March 6, 1962
Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado.
Dear Sirs:
Re7/81/2-10
Lots 1 to 19, Block 11, Kersey, Clark & Hills Add was sold in 1923
for the 1922 taxes and subsequent taxes of 1923 to 1930 were endorsed on this
certificate No. 185® of the 1923 Tax Sale which was issued to Weld County.
Contrary to the law, this same description was sold again in 1932,
for the
salustmett taxes of 1931, subsequent tars for the years 1932 to 1934 were
endorsed in this certificate No. 2754 which was issued to the county.
This Ctf. 2754 was assigned by the County and purchaser got a
Treasurer's Deed on November 23, 1936.
I think this Treasurer's Deed voids the Ctf. No. 185Q9of the 1923
tax sale but I can find no authority for the Treasurer to cancel it.
Will you therefore issue a resolution authorizing the County
Treasurer to camel Co. Ctf. No. 185Q of the tax sale of 1923 covering Lots 1 to
19 and 28 to 54 (which are also in this ctf) BlockAC3&rk & Hills, Kersey with the
taxes of 1932 to 1934 endorsed thereon.
(Lots 28 to 5 4 were also deeded)

COUNTY TREASURER

Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado.
Dear Sirs:
March 5, 1962
Lot 25, Block 61 Milliken was sold for taxes in 1958 for
the taxes of 1957; County Certificate No. 241 was issued and the subsequent taxes
for 1958-1959 & 1960 have been endorsed on this certificate.
There seems to be enough interest now to redeem these taxes but
in checking with the Assessor, he advises that this is a vacant lot and a house
has been assessed on this lot beginning in 19588therefore, the owner should not
be obliged to pay these excessive back taxes to clear this certificate off the
records, when the taxes only in 1957 were on]y73¢ and 82¢ for 1961.
I would like a resolution from the Commissioners either to
cancel this certificate entirely, or authorize the County Treasurer to sell
and assign this Certificate for a stated amount plus his fees for making the
assignment. Recommended amount $ 5.00.
