The clerk was directed to request the undertakers of the city to submit on before Tuesday, February 2, 1904, proposals for burying deceased paupers of the County of Weld during the year 1y04. IN THE MATTER OF PETITIONS FOR REBATE OF TAXES. The following petitions praying for a rebate of taxes for the year 1902 were presented, and after carefully investigating the claim made by each petitioner, and the Board 21_7 being fully advised in the premises, on motion ordered that action be taken on each as follows)vis: Munson and Moan Petition not granted. DeVinny, Ira Williams and Fritz Watenberg viewers appointed December 7, 1903 to view a line of road which was asked to be abandoned and described as follows, viz :-- Commencing at a point 100 rods east of the center corner of section 3r, Tp. 2 N. , R. 66 West; running thence East on the half section lines of sections 32--33--34--35--36-- Tp. ? The following resolution was unanimously passed and alopted, viz:-- WHEREAS) It appearing to the Board that the Old County Poor House located upon Lots 1-- 2 and 12 of the N.E.4 S.E.4 Sec. t , Tp. 5 N. ) R. 65 West is of no more benefit to the County for the reason that it has been vacated and ceases to be used as the Poor House on account of having moved into new quarters North of the city, and WHEREAS, It is deemed advisable and expedient and for the best interests of Weld County Colorado, by the Board of County Commissioners of said County to sell and dispose of same; Now Therefore, Be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colo- rado, that R. W. DeVinny, Chairman of said Board, be and he is hereby appointed and consti- tuted a special Commissioner with full Power and authority to sell and dispose of Lots 1--2 and 12 of the N. E.4 S. IN THE MATTER OF APPROPRIATION TO ADVERTISE THE RESOURCES OF WELD COUNTY AT WORLD' S FAIR AND THROUGHOUT THE EASTERN AND SOUTHERN STATES. T John F. Burns, Secretary to the Executive Committee of the Colorado State Realty As- sociation, came before the Board and requested that the County make an appropriation for the purpose of advertising the resources of this County throughout the Eastern and Southern states and at the World's Fair by Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert McClurg through their numerous and ' rare Beautiful Lantern Projections and lectures throughout the East and South, and after care- fully considering the matter on motion the following resolution was unanimously passed and adopted, viz:-- BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that they DOLLARS herewith appropriate the sum of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY ($250.00)Afor the above described purpose, provided that said association will furnish good and reliable assurance that said money will be used for the purpose intended. IN THE MATTER OF DISPOSING OF REAL PROPERTY HELD BY WELD COUNTY. George J. Spear, representing the Greeley & Northern Railway and Utility Co. came before the Board and stated that the W.- S.W.4 Sec. 26, Tp. 4 N. , R. 67 is now held by Weld County and that he desired to purchase, - for the above named company, the interest of the County in said real estate and offered to pay the sum of iN therefor. Upon investigating the matter it was found that said property was sold to the County in 1899 for the taxes of prior years; that said property is still held by Weld Co..:nty by virtue of said sale; that in consequence of said property being held by said Weld County no taxes have been collected thereon since the issuance of said certificate and in order to place said property back upon the rolls it was thought best to dispose of the same; Therefore it was on motion ordered that the offer of George J. On motion the following resolution was unanimously passed and adopted, viz:-- WHEREAS, It appearing to the Board that in order to lay out and maintain a certain road 6o feet in width through the S.4 of S.h.4 Section 33 and the S of S.W.4 S.W.4 Sec. 34, Tp. 6 N. , R. 66 W. it was found necessary, to secure said right of way, to purchase all land tak— en by said road and all the land lying in the S.i S.K.4 Sec. 33 and S.i S.L . Sec. 33, Tp. 6 N. , R. 66 on the south side of said road, and WHEREAS, Before said road was granted it was agreed upon by E. A. Thompson and James B. Couzzens that they would purchase from the County all the land taken that was not necessary for said roa4; , NOW THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colo- rado, that R. W. DeVinny, Chairman of said Board, be and he is hereby appointed and consti- tuted a special Commissioner with full power and authority to sell and dispose of all that land belonging to Weld County lying and being in the S.4 S.E.4 Section 33 and of the S.f S.W.4 Sari Section 34, Tp. 6, N. 2 R. 66 that lies on the South side of what is designated as County road No. 460; to make and execute for and on behalf of said Weld County, Colorado, for the above described property a deed to the purchasers thereof. IN THE MATTER OF THE APPOINTMENT OF CATTLE INSPECTOR WITHIN AND FOR WELD COUNTY. Dr. Charles Q. Lamb, State Vetrinary Surgeon, ac- companied by Joseph E. Painter, C. L. Waite, Wm. E. Day and H. A. Smith appeared before the the Board of County Commissioners, Board and earnestly requested that trey,^for and on behalf of Weld County, recoimend some good reliable person for the appointment of Cattle Inspector for the purpose of enforcing the law in regard to the dipping of all cattle that are infected with the mange or itch to the end that the same nay be eradicated from all herds in the county; and after listening to oral argument for some little time in support of their request and t',e Board fully believing that steps should be taken at once to prosecute the same, on motion it was ordered that Charles E. Claycomb be and he is hereby recommended as the proper person for said appoint- ment with a salary of $3.00 per day for the actual number of days put in, and the Clerk is directed to notify the Honorable Board of Stock Inspection Commissioners with the request that said Charles E. Upon investigating the matter it was found-that said property was sold to Weld County in - 1896 for the taxes of prior years ; that said property is still held by Weld County by virtue of said tax sale; that in consequence of said property being held by said Weld County no taxes have been collected thereon since the issuance, of said certificates and in order to place said property back upon the tax rolls it was thought best to dispose-of the same; Therefore it was on motion ordered that the offer of Mr. A. J. Allen be and the same is hereby accepted and the County Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed- to is- sue a certificate of sale for said property upon the payment of said sum of x:22.24. Report of Fritz Wattenberg, T. A. Kibby and A. J. Mayne, viewers appointed February 11, 1904 to view a line of road as follows, viz :-- Commencing at the Southwest corner of the S.W.4 Sec. 33, Tp.5 N. , R. 67 W. thence running due North one half mile to the Northwest corner of said S.W.4 thereof, the same being a strip of land 30 feet wide off of the entire west side of the west half of the S.W.4 Of said section 33. Then commencing again at the last named point or the quarter corners between sections 32 and 33, h� tp.5 N. R. 67 W and running thence due north along section lines to a point about 1200 feet South of the Northeast corner of the Northeast quarter of section 32, Tp. 5 N. 1 R. 67; thence bearing . off to the left in a northwesterly direction about 295 feet to a point about 1030 feet south and No 210 feet west of the N.E. Corner of said N.E.4 of section 32, Tp. 5 N. , R. 67 W. the last named point being the terminus thereof was presented to the Board when the followin3 action was taken and entered of record: to-wits The Board having carefully considered the report f the viewers herein, as well as the ob- jections made thereto, and finding the report correct as to form, and believing the public good requires the laying out of the road as recommended by the viewers, it was on motion ordered that the report be approved and adopted, and the road therein described and recommended by the viewers be and is hereby declared a public highway. The Clerk is directed to record the report, plat the road, draw warrants in favor of the parties for damages awarded and cause notices to ' e posted of the opening of said road, and notify the road overseer of the proper district to open the same to travel in sixty days as required by law. The petition of Ida M. Kinsinger came before the Board and Stated that Lots 1 and 2 Block 36 in the town of Evans is now held by Weld County and that he desired to purchase the interest of the county in said lots and offered to pay the sum of t10.61. Upon investigation of the matter it was found that said property was sold to Weld County in 1896 for Ole taxes of prior years ; that said property is still held by Weld County by virtue of said tax sale; that in consequence of said lots being held by said Weld County no taxes have been collected thereon since .th, issuance of said certificates and in order to place said property back upon the tax rolls it was thought best to dispose of the same. Therefore it was on motion ordered that the offer of Mr. Joseph M. Kinsinger be and the same is hereby accepted and the County Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to issue a certificate of sale for said property upon the payment of said sum of :10.61.
