SUBJECT: 2024 Traffic Paint and Beads Bid, B2400036
The Public Works Department recommends the lowest bid for traffic paint be awarded to Sherwin Williams
Company. The bid prices came in below the budgeted amount so we would like to increase the gallons of
white paint from 17,500 gallons to 20,250 gallons. The quantity of yellow paint remains unchanged.at 14,500
gallons. The cost of yellow paint is $155,875.00; white paint is $217,687.50 for a total cost of $373,562.50.
The lowest bid for Type I glass beads is Potters Industries. The bid price came in below the budgeted amount
per pound so we would like to increase the Type I beads from 220,000 pounds to 246,000 pounds. The cost is
$0.514 per pound or a total cost of $126,444.00. We recommend Potters Industries be awarded the bid for
Type I glass beads.
The lowest bid for P20+ glass beads is Potters Industries. The bid price came in below the budgeted amount
per pound so we would like to increase the P20+ beads from 56,000 pounds to 60,000 pounds. The cost is
$0.598 per pound or a total cost of $35,880.00. We recommend Potters Industries be awarded the bid for
P20+ glass beads.
Overall, the bids for all types of traffic striping materials are $1,163.50 less than the 2024 budgeted amount.
