Dear Ed:
This is to advise that installation of the two way radio equip-
ment between the Weld County Civil Defense Emergency Operating
Center has been completed. Specifically, this is a transmit-
ter and receiver installed in the clock gantry in the attic of
your building, with the antenna mounted on the firewall atop
the building about fifty feet from the transmitter. This equip-
ment can be controlled at one point. The control room is locat-
ed on the third floor; namely, the Bailiff's office of the
District Court.
This equipment is setup with a purpose of maintaining communica-
tion between your Civil Defense Director and our broadcast sta-
tion personnel who will be located in a fallout shelter at our
transmitter. Thus your Director can disseminate vital informa-
tion to the civilian population in our listening area in time of
emergency.
This installation is paid for by Federal Civil Defense Agency
funds.
I trust we will never have to use this, but it is ready to go
should the time arise.
