RE: Greeley Habitat for Humanity/Qualified Enterprise Zone Project
To Whom It May Concern,
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners fully supports and endorses the Greeley -Weld
Habitat for Humanity and the many initiatives they undertake including being a part of the
Enterprise Zone Program.
Habitat for Humanity has been and continues to be a major developer of affordable housing,
building throughout the county, including two veteran builds in Hudson. Recently, the board was
happy to support Habitat for Humanity build a Senior Center at the Hill -N -Park neighborhood area
in Greeley, initiating the renewal of the distressed and underserved community outside the
enterprise zone.
Additionally, Habitat for Humanity has continued to expand its development activities in Weld
County embarking on the largest Habitat for Humanity development in the west, Hope Springs,
which will serve 491 residents. This development will serve as a model for future home projects
throughout the county with many amenities like an onsite childcare center, two mini pitch soccer
fields, a nature discovery park, walkable path to groceries and employment, mass transit, retail,
and access to the best schools in the district.
We fully support the Greeley -Weld Habitat for Humanity as major economic contributor in Weld
County.
Sincerely,
Kevin D. Ross
