COMMUNITY COLLEGE MONTH
APRIL 2024
WHEREAS, Aims Community College plays a vital role in shaping the future of Northern Colorado and its
economy by providing high -quality education and training to students of all backgrounds and ages; and
WHEREAS, Aims Community College continues to foster equitable access by keeping college as affordable
as possible, providing access to a college education at one of the lowest tuition rates in Colorado; and
WHEREAS, Aims Community College offers a wide range of programs and services, including technical
training, transfer degrees, workforce development, early college experiences and adult education, all
designed to meet the needs of students and employers; and
WHEREAS, Aims Community College serves nearly 10,000 students each year, providing them with the
skills and knowledge needed to pursue their academic and professional goals, and to become active and
engaged members of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Aims Community College is an integral part of the region's economy, having an annual
economic impact of $244 million and providing employers with the skilled workforce essential for the
growth and prosperity of Northern Colorado's businesses and industries; and
WHEREAS, with recognition of the dedication and hard work of the faculty, staff, and leadership of Aims
Community College, which provides exceptional education and training to students, and with
acknowledgment of the vital role those students play in helping build a stronger and more prosperous
Northern Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that April 2024
be known as Community College Month.
